The Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe Health Services established in 1972 is committed to providing culturally-appropriate and culturally-sensitive, comprehensive, high-quality health care services, treatment, and support services to improve and maintain the overall health of Indians, low income individuals/families in Kitsap County, and to others associated with the tribalal community residing outside Kitsap County.
In 1994 the Tribe began self-governing Indian health service programs. Over the last 12 years, the number of people served has more than doubled.
The Tribe's Primary Health Care Clinic includes general practice, internal medicine, pediatric, obstetrics/gynecological, psychiatric, and diagnostic laboratory. Services offered are diagnosis and treatment of acute illness, chronic disease management, preventive care, limited emergency services, family planning, specialty care referrals, and inpatient care through referral arrangements with local hospitals. The Tribe's dental clinic provides preventive, restorative, and emergency care services: routine hygiene, fillings, protective sealants, x-rays, oral cancer screenings, baby bottle tooth decay screenings, periodontics and endodontics.
