New Grant Funding Opportunity
The Community Health Services - Adult Dental Access (CHS-ADA) grant program was established by the 2008 Legislature through a budget proviso in Engrossed Substitute House Bill 2687. This one-time, $2.0 million dollar grant opportunity authorizes the Health Care Authority to establish a competitive grant process for Community Health Centers with the purpose of increasing access to dental care for adults.
Purpose
The intention of the Adult Dental Access Program is to provide grant funding to eligible organizations to improve access to adult dental care through any or all of the following:
- Staffing, recruitment and retention
- Equipment
- Facilities – Remodel of current facilities
- Facilities – Construction of new facilities
Grant Award Information
- Total funding: $2.0 million dollars for State Fiscal Year 2009
- Award amount: Up to a maximum of $250,000
- Duration of grant cycle: One year period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. Contractors are required to submit reports in November 2008 and June 2009 summarizing the outcomes of the programs/projects. An interim report to the Legislature is required in December 2008 and a final report is required following completion of the grant cycle.
- Anticipated award date: June 16, 2008, following review and recommendation by an interagency grant review panel.
